Our Purpose:
- To encourage greater
involvement of African-Americans in the study and preservation of their
family histories in general
- To emphasize the importance
and value of family history research to the next generation
- To preserve the history of
African Americans in St. Louis and the
state of Missouri
- To facilitate the teaching and
research of African-American culture and history

Our Goals:
- To promote & encourage our
youth to research their heritage
- To increase interest in
research and to raise the standard of research and compilation by means
of workshops and education programs
- To increase a network of
persons with similar interests
- To promote the collection,
preservation, and utilization of manuscripts, documents, and other
materials of genealogical & historical value
- To enrich the self-worth and
self-esteem of Black Americans through genealogical research and
internet
- To foster a sense of
connection or unification not only among African descendants but also
with their non-African descendant relatives
- To provide Community Outreach
